Summer is here!! It’s a perfect time to detoxify your body and clear those unwanted toxins out! To get ready for summer, we’re doing a “Cleanse Give-a-way” to get you guys going (scroll down for details and prizes).
There are several different options on how to cleanse and on what products to actually purchase for a cleanse. Detox cleanses usually range in duration from 3 days to a month with the majority of the cleanses you can purchase being about 2-3 weeks long. I really recommend that you pick a cleanse that is at least a couple weeks long so that it gives your body ample time to re-set your blood sugar and help you actually make long lasting changes and not just lose a few pounds of water weight.
This actually brings up a good point about cleansing….you have to figure out your motives for doing this. Cleansing is NOT FOR WEIGHT LOSS!! Losing weight is a great added bonus to the results you will attain on a cleanse, but this shouldn’t be your main focus. You cleanse to improve the health of your body. The goal is health, not skinny. Ok, just had to get that straight.
Mother’s Day is a special time for me because I get to be thankful for both of my moms. One thing about me that a lot of people may not know if that I was adopted as an infant. I was born here in Garland and adopted out of Bunkner Children’s Home when I was a baby. So I have a birth-mom to be thankful for every year and then MY mom…the incredible woman who raised me….so much to be thankful for.
To the woman who gave me life….
I’ve never met you, but every Mother’s Day I think of you and I am so grateful. The adoption agency brought me my file and told me a few things about you and my birth-dad. I know that when you got pregnant with me you were young and not married. I also know that for a time you strongly
There are so many things through life that help to sanctify us and bring us to our knees before our Father, but I don’t know of any as of yet that does it as well as having children. You know, when you’re single (if you’re like I was), you have your little life figured out pretty well and you’re pretty much totally selfish and self-centered because you don’t have that much else to really focus on at the time. Then you start dating someone, maybe seriously, and God starts working on your heart to show you areas you could improve so that in your sea of selfishness, you begin to think about the person next to you.
